A Dead End....
Whew the ghetto!
I'm definitely referring to my hair during this Quarantine … or … am I referring to the fireworks …. because THAT is a whole nother issue … but moving along to this hair! rolls eyes
Right now, I am going back and forth on straightening my hair OR NOT!? I definitely need my ends clipped and my hair definitely is open to more love and care! I can always tell when a crispy clip is needed, but, hear me out, I don’t want to PAY for a full wash and blow dry —- just for my ends! Problem #1.
Problem #2 … yessss, I know if you take care of your ends, your hair will grow but I am dreading the question of how much do you want me to take off because we all know all the amount of dead hair that has accumulated during Quarantine needs to be gone. I'm just 1,000 percent sure my hair can drop down to my calves, if I get it together *Jadakiss voice* (did y’all catch him on the Verzuz battle??? —- Talk about a drunken mess …)
So before lock down, the last time I straightened my hair was for my birthday in January and after that I took the journey to getting knot-less braids that lasted for me maybe 3 weeks tops. I loved them! But they were just long and heavy as hell! Secretly, tell my friends not to kill me, buttt… I want them again!!! lol
Once Covid-19/Quarantine became a thing, I went back to wearing my hair curly. Which means I wake up everyday, wet my hair and add a leave in conditioner. Some days I'll even do the Celie braids. I am one of the many black women that does not know how to braid … not even the two braids straight to the back. So, I'm usually begging my sister to come by and throw some in for me.
But now I’m stuck - Do I pay for my hair and make sure to take fire pics since I know it won't last more than two or three days because of humidity and working out? Or do I just continue my summer with my wash n go?
If I continue with my wash-n-go, what products am I using? I was a subscriber of the @Curlbox but that eventually became overwhelming even though it did introduce me to some new brands and who doesn’t love @myleik!? I mostly just use Shea Moisture (can’t use them anymore); @fixdhair (is an oil to help your hair grow, I don't actually need it but it works!!) and @acaciabeauty.shop chamomile oil that I add to my ends. Also, I just literally started using Aunt Jackie’s “knot on my watch” the best detangler along with Mielle’s leave in conditioner. I’m definitely going to purchase more @Mielleorganics because she’s BLACK!
So let's take a poll … YES to clip my ends or NO stick with my wash n go?
Comment over on this IG post (@yo_harvey) to let a sista know!
