Go Shawty! It's Ya Birthday!

Let’s talk about birthdays ...

Their season is over but I can’t believe how many Leo’s I know! Females only! You male leo’s - Blah!

The amount of celebrations I have been apart of has blown my mind.  I spent five days in the City of Angels aka Los Angeles and, I honestly couldn’t handle it! I am definitely the party queen but good Lord!!! My back?! My pockets?! My lack of sleep?! It ALLL got the best of me! Let alone I was traveling with a wife who is also mother of a one year old - so I already knew it was going down, down! Lol.

But WAIT! Before the trip to LA, I spent three lovely days in Chi town with some of my other close friends. Whew child! We partied in Chicago like we were back at MSU! (No, I did not attend MSU but I was up there enough that I should really have an honorary degree!) So just let me tell ya’ll - I need a break. But it doesn’t EVEN stop there! We are in the Virgo season, right now and my absolute fav Libra’s are right around the corner … I am not ready.

Outside of the big a$$ hint, I think ya’ll know who said that line … if not ?? you betta get up off my timeline!!! I kid, I kid - but like why do we use that line for birthdays?? Idk, but I DO LOVE me some Biggie!

Ok back to it!

Outside of the fact that I go crazy on birthday’s, it’s really because … I am absolutely honored when my friends want me to be a part of their birthday celebrations and I try my hardest to make sure I’m off and the first one in attendance. Because, if we are honest with ourselves, we know your birthday comes around once a year and it’s one of the only times you have a day to plan for YOURSELF! Unless you are the type that’s in tune with yourself and big on self care. But that’s a whole ‘nother blog in itself.

So! Here are my bday questions … brace yourself … What is the proper etiquette when celebrating a friends bday? I for one depise a group dinner. (why can’t everybody just split the damn check?!) I rather take a rain check and take you out solo.

So now on this solo date … does it have to be brunch, lunch or dinner? Or could it just be drinks? Or am I being cheap by saying drinks? Drinks can definitely add up! And the whole goal is to have a good time! Soooo, yeah…

Now. For the above mentioned group dinner - are you putting $$ in for the bday - with the entire bday party OR, do you wait for the boyfriend/girlfriend etc. to volunteer first? (Omg, I’m getting stressed already!)

Also do you bring a separate gift?

And, at our age 30+, what type of gifts do you even want to receive? Me personally? I could use another package for yoga or even new luggage for work or for my leisure travel. (1/19) *winks*

Club parties are done with now? I mean it doesn’t hurt to go out maybe randomly if we are bored after dinner but let’s be honest who can stay up passed 10 at this age?!

And …. Out of town trips? Do you all pitch in for the bday girls air fare, hotel stay and other activities you might have planned?

So please, all help would be appreciated because birthdays are one thing we can’t get rid of! So let’s find the best way to celebrate our best girl (and guy) friends!
xoxo,
