FA LA LA LA LAAAA
One holiday down and two more to go … well really three because my Birthday is def my FAVE holiday!
So what comes with the holidays??? Ha. Realizing I’m still single as F and childless! But no worries, I’m not pressed for either one, even though the holidays can in fact put you in a funk - making you feel as though you’re in missing out on life!
Just for kicks - Let’s roll back to Thanksgiving dinner when My mom said “I think you need to freeze at least 2-4 eggs” like really!? This is exactly why I’m possibly planning to work Christmas!
Yes. I am at the so called age where my clock is possibly ticking but, who needs to rush? It’s so many women getting pregnant at the age of 40+ and in my opinion most dudes are not even thinking about marriage till they are def over the age of 35! Sooo sorry Crystal! No grandkids any time soon from moi! (I am assuming she did subscribe to my blog, she use to follow me on IG until I blocked her once finding out she would send my page to any suitor she thought would be a good fit for me. Talk about embarrassing.)
Now let’s get back to this funk part of the holidays. About 95% of my friends are married or with child so of course they have now started their own traditions with their families. They of course invite me over but let’s get real, it’s half way depressing when you show up as the odd ball when everyone else is coupled up. This actually happened to me at a Friendsgiving this year! (Thanks to the Cordells for the invite!) We started to pray and I looked around the room and thought shit, was I suppose to bring a significant other???
So with the two biggest holidays around the corner remember your single, childless friends around these times - we are not okay. But we still want to be invited to the festivities, because, of course, we are literally the life of the party & will def bring a dish - in my case it will be a good bottle of wine or liquor!
But some things we single girls can do this holiday season:
Go ahead and purchase that purse or shoes or whatever you had your heart set on and put it under the tree. To: You From: Santa.
If you have god kids, nieces, nephews see what the parents might need help with for gifts for the kids.
Take that solo trip to the beach! Who wants to sit around in the snow anyway.
Go to the spa!
Take a yoga class!
Kiss a stranger danger for NYE! Why not?
Just be sure to do something that’s going to put a smile on your face and warm your heart!
It’s no point in letting holidays put us in the funk when we have the means to do whatever we like!
