I THOUGHT IT WAS JINGLE BELLS NOT SHINGLE BELLS

Yep you read that right Shingles. Now how in the hell at 34 1/2 would I get shingles!? (My b-day is 1/19).

Well - the key component is having chickenpox as a kid so that virus becomes dormant and just sits in your body until it is triggered again. And what makes it trigger you might add ... STRESS! Or being over the age of 60. Good grief.

I know you’re thinking what in the hell are you stressed about and it’s prob just from traveling, holidays and turning 35!

So back to these little guys - so, at one point I was feeling stiff on one side of my body and it would be painful but I thought nothing of it. The next day, I was changing my clothes and BAM! - I see a rash on the right side of my body, so I instantly thought I got bed bugs. I sent a pic to a friend (who’s my personal doc) and she told me to stop whatever I was using new on my body. I’m like - Nope, nothing new. She said, well, stop eating whatever you ate that was out of the ordinary. Again, I’m like - Nope, nothing new. I went out that day to get some hydro-cortisone. The next day, I noticed it spread to the side of my right boob. Now what gives.

When these buggers first started to appear.

Once I got back home I made an appointment (which at this point was prob 6 days after I found the rash) and as soon as I pulled my shirt up she walked around and said “oh, that’s just Shingles”. Like people my age get this shit everyday. Ma’am. So she pretty much said continue using what I have and that was it because now it’s healing on its on, which I can’t tell is happening at all and I’m going to have an anxiety attack if my back keeps these scars. My back is literally my FAVE part of my body, and now this.

So here I am today. Making sure I’m staying away from old people and babies, and my friends who are freaked out thinking I’m a walking disease. Assholes.

Here, it is healing.
